On 14th February, Indians faced their worst nightmare when over 40 CRPF jawans were martyred through the efforts of the Jaish – e – Mohammed, a terrorist group.
Condolences started pouring in for the families that had lost their loved ones and a lot of people tried to do their bit to honour the men who sacrificed their lives for their country.
For instance, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar pulled out of their event in Karachi and Kangana Ranaut even cancelled her Manikarnika success party after the tragedy.
Virat Kohli too felt that all such celebratory events should be postponed in the light of this tragedy, since it would be dishonoring the memory of the jawans.
He was supposed to be honored at an event, the Indian Sports Honours. However, in a tweet, he mentioned that due to the tragedy, the event will be postponed.
The RP-SG Indian Sports Honours has been postponed. At this heavy moment of loss that we all find ourselves in, we would like to cancel this event that was scheduled to take place tomorrow. — Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) February 15, 2019
